Encounters on the journey through life
As an artist who will create the largest painting in the world, I manifest the philosophy of human encounter in my work. Every stroke of color becomes a living expression of communication and the exchange of experiences between people whose traces are engraved like footprints on my path. In my monumental work of art, the encounters weave themselves into a living mosaic that reflects my own journey through life.

The largest picture in the world: A unique collaborative work of art
Christian Nienhaus dares to set a world record at the UEFA European Championship in Germany in the arena at Schalke. TAS Emotional Marketing is the official project partner.
Internationally renowned artist Christian Nienhaus will create a unique collaborative artwork in the run-up to the 2024 European Championships. In the heart of Gelsenkirchen in the Ruhr metropolis, in the VELTINS-Arena on Schalke, the anticipation of the 2024 European Championship will reach its peak when an extraordinary, cultural soccer art project is created – on the largest screen in the world.
On May 5, “THE largest picture in the world” (Guinness World Record) will be created on a screen measuring over 12,000 square meters. Junior soccer teams from all nations will be sent onto the pitch to act out historical soccer moves under Nienhaus’ instructions. Each participant carries a rucksack filled with 25 liters of acrylic paint and each nation is given its own color. The color runs continuously through a flexible tube from the backpack and marks the path of each player. These encounters become visible through the respective running tracks, the crossing of the paths and the mixing of the different colors and one realizes that it is precisely the game that unites, paves the way and overcomes boundaries – that is Colourful Art of Football.
“We believe in the power of art to bridge cultures, overcome languages and unite people. The creation of this joint work of art is proof of the shared passion for soccer that connects people all over the world,” says Christian Nienhaus.
After drying, a special camera (mounted under the LED arena cube) is used to create a photo using a long exposure process, which is then prepared as an art print by a premium print shop. As a DIN A1 print, combined with a 10 × 10 cm original pixel of the cut-up12,000 square meter artwork, limited unique pieces are created, which then go on sale for € 49.04 00 and whose proceeds go in part to charity projects, including the non-profit association “Schalke hilft”.
“This will be a unique collaborative artwork depicting iconic soccer moments from past UEFA EURO tournaments on the largest screen in the world at the Arena auf Schalke, one of the official venues for UEFA EURO 2024™. The project not only has advertising and PR objectives, but is also intended to collect donations for charitable causes. That is why both the UEFA EURO 2024™ host city Gelsenkirchen and the UEFA EURO 2024™ project are supporting this initiative both operationally and with co-promotional activities,” says Martin Kallen, CEO UEFA Events.
The creation of the artwork will be accompanied by various moving image formats and will be available as a streaming documentary. An invitation to the official launch and further information will follow shortly.
